TVBMA Winners 2015
Best Use of Technology award sponsored by Redwood Technologies
Redwood Technologies is delighted to help recognise UK technological innovation as it once again sponsors this category at the Thames Valley Business Magazine Awards (TVBMA).
The Redwood ‘Best Use of Technology’ award is open to businesses of any size and applies to both the users and developers of technology. As Europe’s ‘Tech Valley’, the Thames Valley area is home to a host of innovative SMEs through to 11 of the world’s largest 15 tech companies.
2015 entrants to the award will have to demonstrate an innovative approach to the application of technology, leading to a demonstrable improvement in the customer service experience whilst bringing about significant reductions in operational cost and overheads.
Sean Taylor, managing director of Redwood Technologies, commented:
“Redwood has been based in the Tech Valley since its inception over twenty years ago. Our business benefits greatly from being within Europe’s most significant tech hub. We are pleased to be able to invest back into the region by sponsoring this award, which showcases business creativity with technology.”
Green Progress award sponsored by Grundon Waste Management
The Green Progress award is sponsored by Grundon Waste Management and is open to companies and organisations of any size that are based in the Thames Valley, and that have been operating for at least one full year. The award seeks to encourage improved recycling and environmental performance at every level throughout the organisation, with a particular emphasis on staff buy-in. Recycling at home is now second nature to most people, but if the UK is to reach the goal of ‘zero waste to landfill’ then further improvements are needed in the workplace. This could be as simple as ensuring that employees recognise the importance of effective segregation, such that recyclables are not contaminated with food or residual waste.
Judges will be looking for innovation in environmental performance, for example a demonstrable reduction in the organisations’ carbon footprint through reduced energy consumption, and for evidence of sustainable performance rather than a ‘quick fix’. They will consider the management of waste, for example separate food waste collection or treatment, or measures taken to reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill, and the environmental benefits and any cost savings accrues as a result.
The winner will receive a prestigious trophy for their reception or boardroom. It will also be featured in The Business Magazine and enjoy wide-ranging media and PR opportunities.
