| Introduction to completing the online entry form. |
How the online entry process works
A. Competitors entering the Business Management Team Award, sponsored by The Royal Bank of Scotland, are requested at the bottom of this page to sign-up and then complete and submit the online entry form. All submitted entry forms will be reviewed by the judging panel.
B. You are allowed to enter more than one category if you wish. However you will need to sign-up to another online entry form by going to the relevant awards category page.
C. This online form is intended as a guide only and any supporting documentation, such as Report and Accounts or brochures are welcome. Some of the details requested in the entry form might be covered in such literature, however the General Information section of the online entry form must be completed. All issues covered in the online entry form should be addressed by an entrant in their submission. Supporting documentation can be emailed to docs@businessawards.co.uk. Please state the award, your email address and password in your email.
D. At any point before submitting your form you can come back at a later time and complete your form. To access your form you will need to login at the bottom of this page. Your login details will be emailed to you after signing-up.
E. To make sure the page you have been working on is saved, all you need to press the 'Next & Save' button.
F. At the end of the entry form you will be asked to submit it. If you are ready, you may submit it. After that no changes can be made.
G. Once submitted you will receive an email to confirm your submission was successful. The confirmation email will also contain a copy of the completed entry form, for you to keep for your own record.
H. PLEASE NOTE IF THE FORM IS LEFT IDLE FOR MORE THAN 1 HOUR THE FORM WILL AUTOMATICALLY CLOSE DOWN. THIS IS FOR SECURITY REASONS
I. The closing date for entries is the 26th September 2008.
Judges direction:
Quality, dynamic management is critical to the success of any company, particularly within the competitive environment of the Thames Valley. We are looking for a team who can demonstrate strong leadership skills, drive, commitment, adaptability and the ability to think and plan ahead. As a result the company will have seen strong financial performance, have sound strategic plans in place and will be an energetic and vibrant place to work. |

The judges will be looking for evidence of success in the following broad areas:
Financial performance: Entries should provide up-to-date details of financial performance.The judges will be looking for evidence of an improvement in profitability as a result of a sound business plan.
Innovation: The business should be able to demonstrate how it has developed products/services after identifying a clear market need. Information regarding the utilisation of any new technology or innovation in this process should be given.
Strategic planning and thinking: The business should demonstrate how clear and focused business planning and strategy has aided financial and trading performance.
Team building/building partnerships: Evidence that management have concentrated on building a winning team, to implement policy and achieve business objectives.
Leadership/overcoming problems: Entrants should demonstrate that strong leadership has focused activity within the business and that this has enabled difficult situations to be overcome.
Change management: To demonstrate that management has been flexible and pro-active in facing a change in unexpected circumstances. |
